Psychologist II (Grade 12)
Student Services and Development: Career Centre. The Division of Student Services and Development: Career Centre invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team. The main objective of this post is to provide comprehensive career counselling services to students and prospective students. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for the running of the Career Centre as well as assisting with the supervision and training of intern psychologists at the Counselling Centre as delegated by the Head of the Counselling Centre.

Requirements

• Qualified and registered counselling psychologist (Masters’ degree) with at least 3 years relevant work experience over and above their internship.
• Active registration with HPCSA.
• Individuals who have supervised interns will be at an advantage.
• Relevant experience includes work with adolescents or individuals with respect to Career Guidance.
• Experience in dealing with Secondary School Learners will be an advantage as well as any experience with students at a Tertiary level.

Skills

• Strong counselling skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Supervisory skills for overseeing intern psychologists.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive career counselling services to students and prospective students.
• Manage the operations of the Career Centre.
• Supervise and train intern psychologists as delegated by the Head of the Counselling Centre.
• Engage in one-on-one counselling, group counselling, educational work, and Psychometric Services.
