Purpose of the Role:
The Fieldworker/Recruiter will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling potential research study participants for the Fractures in Sub-Saharan Africa: Epidemiology, economic impact and ethnography study (FRACTURES E3). This is a collaboration between the Wellcome Trust Grant and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which aims to enroll 1008 participants in Vulindlela, Pietermaritzburg using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement sound housekeeping procedures and work effectively with others as a member of a team to ensure a safe working environment
- Ensure safe keeping of all electronic devices at all times
- Observe and follow all safety protocols including Covid-19-related protocols
- Recruit and enroll potential research study participants, with preference given to residents of Vulindlela
- Take informed consent from participants
- Operate online software on a tablet device
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric certificate
- 1-year prior experience in enrolling participants in health research studies
- Experience in taking informed consent
- Ability to operate online software on a tablet device
- Own transport
- Prior training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
