Stores Assistant at Country Bird Holdings

Job Description:
The Stores Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the production and maintenance stores by ensuring that stock is available for daily production and that the stores are kept organized and clean.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of previous stores experience
  • Ability to do basic numerical calculations
  • Minimum qualification of Grade 12
  • Valid forklift licence (advantageous)

Responsibilities:

  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Attend to production stock needs
  • Follow Health & Safety rules and regulations in the working area
  • Accurately record stock issues in the requisition book (including product code, description, quantity, batch number, and remaining stock after issue)
  • Keep pallets neat and tidy
  • Report damages and check expiry dates
  • Verify invoices/delivery notes against Purchase Orders and allocate received stock to racks or floor space in the store
  • Follow FEFO/FIFO procedure for stock rotation and replenish stock levels on shelves and pallets in main stores
  • Work as part of a team and assist coworkers
  • Participate in stock take
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as required by management
  • Maintain housekeeping in and around stores according to standards.
