Job Description
- Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Shift Supervisor Diamond Drilling, to be based at the Fairview Mine near Barberton, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will report to the Site Superintendent.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effective supervision of the diamond drilling crews
- Effective planning, leading, organising and control within area of responsibility to achieve daily production, quality and safety targets
- Cost containment through effective budget management and efficient target achievement
- Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows and target achievement
- Efficient achievement of production and quality targets in line with DMR and project scope
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation in alignment with legal regulations, the client’s and M&RC’s standards, procedures and policies
- Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives
Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Numeracy at minimum NQF 3
- Competent A
- Possess either a recognised Shift Supervisor Certificate (includes Planning, Leading, Organising and Control) or a Supervisory skills Certificate
- Blasting Certificate of Competency / Trade Certificate / Technical Diploma
- MS Office Proficient [Word and Excel]
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Charge Hand Diamond Drilling
- Exposure acting as a Shift Supervisor Diamond Drilling would be advantageous
