Role summary
The Pharmacy Stock Assistant is responsible to assist the Pharmacy Manager and staff with the day to
day stock management activities and administrative tasks in the Pharmacy.

Key work output and accountabilities
Conduct data capturing.
Pick, pack and coordinate dormant and slow moving stock between all Netcare hospitals.
Liaise with other hospitals with regards to dormant and slow moving stock.
Conduct barcoding of stock in pharmacy and theatre.
Maintain pharmacy shelves by packing product onto the shelves, taking into account stock
rotation and expiry principles.
Placing of orders with suppliers via the appropriate method according to Netcare Stock
Management policy for both surgical and ethical stock.
Assist with stock replenishment.
Deliver replenished stock to the required units.
Assist scrub sisters and theatre unit manager with stock queries.
Conduct general packing of stock.
Perform administrative functions with regards to Green-procurement.
Check the received goods against the ordered goods and ensure compliance with the
expected quality standards and quantity requirements.
Assist the stock controllers in performing routine functions.
Conduct and process ICTS.
Assist with the management of stock in accordance to the Netcare Stock Management policy
with special emphasis on designated stock areas.
Manage and resolve supplier back order situations.
Involved in all aspects of cyclical and full stock take processes.
Assist with management reports.

Work closely with KPI reports.
Perform any other duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager/Stock coordinator.
Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working
relationships that are mutually beneficial.
Develop collaborative relationships to help accomplish work goals.
Participate in monthly meetings to discuss issues and give feedback.
Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goals
Assume responsibility for own personal and professional development.
Keep up to date with Netcare’s evolving policies and procedures

Skills profile
Education
Grade 12 or equivalent of NQF level 4 Qualification.
Work experience
Experience and knowledge of Surgical and Ethical stock products.
Knowledge
Computer literacy: Excel, Word and Outlook.
Sound knowledge of stock control system.
Sound knowledge of surgical and pharmaceutical products.
