PA / Receptionist : Jobcrystal

Job Description 

  • A Pulmonologist based in Pinelands is looking for a PA / Receptionist for a newly opened practice.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Opening the office each morning, and ensuring it is neat and tidy and ready for visiting patients
  • Greet patients – around 8 patients a day (consultation time is usually 30 – 60 minutes)
  • Admin – check dictation (not typing up of dictation but checking the grammar etc of the automated dictation), emailing reports to GP’s
  • Booking of theatre time
  • Liaising with anaesthetists
  • Answering the phone
  • Setting up appointments
  • Ensuring billing sheets are sent to the billing company (automated process so won’t be involved in the billing besides to send things on)
  • Invoice patients

Requirements 

  • Grade 12
  • Good command of the English language – must communicate well
  • Xhosa would be advantageous
  • Prior experience in the medical industry would be advantageous in order to understand the jargon – BUT will hire the right personality and skills set over prior medical knowledge
  • Good admin skills
  • Must be computer literate on MS Office, Google Docs, One Drive, etc. Must not be scared to try new systems and make changes
  • Personality is important – must be empathetic and good with patients
