Your tasks

Ensure the accurate and timely movement of ocean freight to- and from specific locations within the service standards agreed with the Customer.
Handle all Vendor facing communication and shipment related internal communication between DB Schenker stakeholders.
Execute on-carriage services by truck, rail or barge.
Accountable:
Activate and/or create shipment in TMS (TANGO).
Initiate credit limit check and follow up with Finance to release shipment from on-hold – as applicable.
Update shipment arrival information in TMS (TANGO).
Provide shipment details (manifest) to customs authorities – as applicable.
Receive Carrier’s Arrival Notice.
Request cargo release information, documents and freight invoice from Carrier – as applicable.
Perform required interaction incl. document transfer with Customs Clearance Team.
Receive Original HBL from Consignee and confirm receipt in TMS (TANGO) – as applicable.
Send ‘Shipping Advice’ and ‘Arrival Notice’ to Consignee (Sender shown as “Customer Management”).
Check actual shipment arrival date with Carrier and confirm in TMS (TANGO) – as applicable.
Check container arrival at CY (Container Yard) and confirm in TMS (TANGO).
Check shipment arrival at CFS (Container Freight Station) and confirm in TMS (TANGO) – for LCL.
Determine optimal vendor, routing and price for delivery arrangements.
Provide delivery instructions to trucking vendors.
Update TMS (TANGO) with truck / vendor details – as applicable.
Provide delivery information to Carrier (if Carrier’s haulage).
Send delivery details to Consignee – as applicable (Sender shown as “Customer Management”).
Check shipment delivery status and confirm in TMS (TANGO).
Check empty container return to CY (Container Yard) and confirm in TMS (TANGO) – as applicable.
Ensure that Original MBL is surrendered to Carrier at origin or destination – as applicable.
Perform required interaction with CY (Container Yard) and port authorities – as applicable.
Provide self-pickup instructions to Consignee – as applicable (Sender shown as “Customer Management”).
Confirm self-pickup details in TMS (TANGO) – as applicable.
Provide “Change Advice” to Consignee – as applicable.
Continuously monitor container pickup status at CY (Container Yard).
Continuously monitor shipment pickup status at CFS (Container Freight Station) – LCL.
Create exceptional and accessorial income reserves and cost accruals in TMS (TANGO)
Verify payment status of invoice to ensure Consignee paid all charges if no credit limit in place.
Continuously provide demurrage & detention details to Customer Management Team.
Continuously provide storage details to Customer Management – LCL.
Timely and accurate completion of activities in TMS (TANGO).
Ensure compliance with Customer specific KPI’s – as applicable.
Manage and resolve invoicing disputes with vendors (Trucker / Ocean Carrier).
Request update from/with MDM Team (Master Data Management) as applicable.
35. Receive and/or upload relevant documents to digital archive (ODM) – as applicable.

Promote a paperless, digital office environment utilizing all modern communication methods and electronic tools provided by DB Schenker.

All Ocean Freight related guidelines, processes and developments of importance to the operational execution of ocean freight products.

All IT related guidelines, processes and developments of importance to the operational execution of ocean freight products.

Requirements

Effective communication skills and professional communication etiquette.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Fluency in written and spoken [local] language.

Strong computer (Windows PC) skills.
