Job Description:

The Operations Controller is responsible for maintaining and improving the relationship between the business and the client, ensuring business continuity and customer satisfaction. They will also be responsible for CHEP.

Requirements:

– Matric
– Relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management (beneficial)
– Previous work experience in a supervisory role
– Minimum of 3 years work experience with Inventory and Stock Control
– Minimum of 3 years work experience with CHEP

Skills:

– High customer service levels
– Ability to work with minimal supervision
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
– Excellent planning and organizational skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Quick response to customer queries is of high importance.
• Ensure customers are aware of all processes and expectations are met.
• Take control of operational activities.
• Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.
• Achieve daily client requests such as returns, receipts, and dispatches.
• Ensure adherence to SHEQ and ISO company standards/policies.
• Hold regular operations meetings with staff to manage output and expectations.
• Encourage continuous improvement of service.
• Measure and meet all quality objectives.
• Ensure compliance with good hygiene and housekeeping disciplines.
• Manage the servicing and maintenance of all equipment within the department.
• Align the department with the BIL corporate framework.
• Monitor and maintain discipline in all areas of responsibility.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly measurement and reporting of KPI achievement.
• Ensure on-time submission of management reports.
• Prepare monthly SHERQ report.
• Report monthly cycle count results to management.
• Measure and achieve staff productivity in operations.
• Establish KPIs for subordinates and manage accordingly.
• Conduct performance appraisals for staff.
• Manage absenteeism and ensure compliance with the BIL code of conduct.
• Ensure correct daily use of PPE and uniforms by staff.
