NWJ Garden Route Mall is inviting all suitable candidates to apply for the Flexi Sales Assistant Vacancy.
The purpose of the job is for the successful candidate to plan and carry out all sales activities at store level.
Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and managing quality of product and service delivery. Applicants must be willing to work retail hours and also on weekends.

Location: Gauteng

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Greet customers
  • Establish the customer’s needs
  • Recommend, select and help locate the correct merchandise
  • Describe a product’s features and benefits
  • Demonstrate use and operation of the product
  • Answer customer queries regarding the store and the merchandise
  • Meet and exceed targets related to sales and credit
  • Provide information about warranties, manufacturing specifications, care and maintenance of merchandise and delivery options
  • Provide information about payment options available
  • Promote sales on credit using the company credit offering
  • Performing accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations
  • Receive and process cash, cheque and credit card payments
  • Provide change and receipts
  • Ensure achievement of targets for sales and credit card accounts on a daily and monthly basis
  • Bag or package purchases
  • Attend events arranged by the Company and participate actively to ensure sharing of
    best practices
  • Promote a good working relationship with fellow employees
  • Seek opportunities to consistently learn and train
  • Review your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets
  • Maintaining customer relationships after the sale
  • Arrange and display merchandise
  • Keep merchandise area and store tidy
  • Organize and process merchandise exchanges
  • Place special orders and follow up where required
  • Count money, sort charge slips and balance monies


  • Matric or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes
  • Knowledge of sales principles
  • Relevant product knowledge and training
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Experience in a retail, customer service or sales environment
  • Basic business administration knowledge
  • A proven ability to achieve sales targets
  • Ability to work flexible hours, shifts and/or weekends in line with store operational
