Genesis Educational Foundation Offering Bursaries to South African Students

The Genesis Educational Foundation (GEFT) is offering bursaries to young South African students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue their Honours or Master’s degree in Economics or related disciplines at a recognised South African university. The bursary will cover tuition fees, books, and stationery, and dependent on available funds, may also contribute towards additional needs such as accommodation, a living allowance, and transport.

Eligibility and Requirements for GEFT Bursary

To be eligible for the GEFT bursary, applicants must have achieved a consistent average of 65% or above for their undergraduate and/or Honours degree. Suitable candidates are defined as those from the designated groups as per the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 (South African Indian, Coloured, and African). A complete application must include:

  • A comprehensive CV
  • A copy of your South African identity document
  • A page-long motivational letter
  • Full academic transcripts from your first year of undergraduate studies to date (submitted as a single document)
  • A writing sample (e.g. essay, proposal, or assignment from the current or previous academic year, individually authored)

The Genesis Educational Foundation (GEFT) is the educational arm of Genesis Analytics, an African economics-based consultancy and global African firm.
