Executive Head Of Department Finance Transformation | Vodafone

Role purpose:

The EHOD of IB Finance Transformation is responsible for supporting the IB CFO in leading finance transformation across the markets by driving key strategic and transformational projects. This role is expected to be the primary lead in demand management from the various markets in identifying transformational opportunities, supporting the Finance functions through thought leadership on key projects, and leading the delivery of strategic projects driven across the IB markets. The role will encompass a wide range of scope like digitization of finance, strategic project outcomes, and delivery of key Group led projects in the areas of SCM, Logistics, Big Data & RPA, Finops, D&A, and Controls and Compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

Deployment lead on strategic projects – Be the primary deployment lead for Group capabilities into the IB markets, in the areas of SCM, Logistics, Big Data & RPA, Finops, and D&A. Lead demand management from both the markets and IB ExCo (commercial, M-Pesa, and Technology) on transformational opportunities and partner with Group functions’ centralized capabilities to deliver on those demands across the markets. Financial decision support – Partner with key stakeholders and provide decision support on strategic projects across the IB markets. Controls and Compliance
– Drive, and program manage the various risk, assurance, regulatory, compliance, and governance transformation projects in coordination with the relevant stakeholders across both the Group and IB markets. Implement Capital framework – Lead a framework on capital allocation and Post Investment Reviews across markets in conjunction with the Group Technology team.
Lead value creation projects across markets to improve shareholder value. Provide effective financial decision support to IB CFO on key strategic projects. Implement and improve controls and compliance across IB Finance teams. Implement a data-centric approach to the finance team in the areas like planning, forecasting, and performance management. Develop benchmarking across the portfolio to identify transformational opportunities.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Matric essential. A chartered Accountant is a must. Project management experience preferred. Experience in driving finance transformation across large organizations. Deep understanding of the Telecommunication industry. Corporate finance experience preferred. Financial skills – Deep understanding of financial accounting standards. Corporate Finance experience – Preferred to have experience in capital structuring and corporate finance. Influencing skills – Ability to drive transformation through a collaborative and consensus-building approach. Presentation skills – Ability to present to senior stakeholders, including IB Exco and Market Finance Directors. Project Management – proven track record in successful implementations of complex projects within timelines. Stakeholder Management – Proactive collaboration and stakeholder management between Group and markets. Technology and Data-centric – Curious and keen to adopt and drive the implementation of new technologies & data science (including Machine learning and RPA.
