EThekwini Municipality Has Exciting Bursary Opportunities for 2023

Qualified Applicants Can Receive Full Tuition, Housing, and More

The eThekwini Municipality is currently accepting applications for a number of bursaries in the fields of civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering, architecture, and property development. These bursaries provide South African citizens with the opportunity to pursue a rewarding career in one of these fields, while receiving full tuition, housing, and other benefits to support their studies.

Eligibility Requirements for Bursary Applicants

To apply for one of these bursaries, potential candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric or currently in Matric
  • Strong academic record
  • Full-time study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the fields listed above
  • Enrollment at a recognized South African tertiary institution
  • Acceptance to study in one of the fields listed above

Bursary Benefits and Application Process

Successful bursary recipients will receive a number of benefits, including accommodation fees, tuition fees, examination fees, a book allowance, and a one-time computer allowance in the second year of study (pending compliance with the agreement).

To apply for a bursary, candidates must submit their full academic record, as well as proof of acceptance from a South African public university and matric results (if applicable). Preference will be given to applicants who have already completed their first year of studies at a recognized institution.

All applicants will be required to undergo an assessment as part of the bursary selection process. The eThekwini Municipality has a limited number of bursary vacancies, so interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
