Job Description:
The Financial Crime Risk Assessment Specialist is responsible for providing ongoing oversight of compliance issues impacting the financial crime risk profile. This includes engaging with segments on non-compliance issues, coordinating the group’s response to regulatory returns and inspections, and participating in progress reports on remediation.
Requirements:
– Post-graduate degree or honors degree in Commerce with specialisation preferences in Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance, or Legal.
– Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in compliance, risk management, internal or external audit, including financial crime experience in a financial services industry.
Skills:
– Evaluation and assessment
– Coordinating and managing requests for information and self-assessment questionnaires
– Coordinating group response to inspections and regulatory returns
– Reviewing risk rating, root causes, and action plans
– Facilitating assessments and evaluating controls
– Logging, tracking, and following up on corrective actions
– Maintaining effective working relationships with regulators and compliance officers
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Coordinate requests for information, quarterly returns, and self-assessment questionnaires
– Co-ordinate group response to inspections and regulatory returns
– Perform monthly Archer logs reviews and facilitate meetings with compliance teams
– Attend key segment or business unit meetings
– Co-ordinate submissions and evaluation of segment feedback for regulatory reports
– Facilitate assessments and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls
– Prepare high-risk themes for monitoring
– Perform ad hoc tasks or work requirements assigned by the Head of Financial Crime or Evaluation and Assessment Manager
– Engage with regulators and maintain working relationships with compliance officers
