Job Description:
The Building Projects Clerk will be responsible for protecting Rand Water’s existing servitudes, pipelines, and ancillary structures from potential damage. They will also need to accommodate the needs of outside authorities and organizations in accordance with Rand Water’s policies, standards, and specifications.
Requirements:
• Grade 12
• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 2-4 years of post-experience in Civil Engineering construction/Pipelines
• Wayleaves, Servitudes, Encroachment experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Daily updating of outgoing wayleave spreadsheet accurately
• Compiling wayleave pack for external stakeholders
• Daily follow-ups with external stakeholders regarding wayleave approval progress
• Daily submission of valid wayleave approvals to Project Managers and Land Surveyors
• Daily update of the spreadsheet for any changes on outgoing wayleaves
• Weekly submission of steering committee report to Line Manager
• Bi-weekly submission of updated wayleave progress spreadsheet
• Daily record of outgoing wayleave information
• Daily submission of wayleave application approvals and general correspondence to archive
• Inspection of various construction activities
• Attend site meetings and liaise with consultants
• Dealing with applications and correspondence
• Issuing Inspection Orders to Regional Superintendents
• Protect Rand Water’s interests in matters relating to Notice of Encroachments
• Provide information to Central and District Depots as required
• Keep abreast of new information and technology
Knowledge:
