Administrative Assistant, Export | DSV

Main purpose of the role
▪ Capturing and submitting accurate export declarations to Customs
▪ Inbound and outbound scanning of shipments at the Gateway
▪ Identify and comply with any local and international legal and regulatory requirements.
▪ Communicate laws and regulations to customers and other interested parties where legislation needs to be considered and adhered to
▪ Capture data in relevant systems
▪ Check weight and dimensions of cargo
▪ Create trip sheet/manifests for export cargo
▪ Scanning and filling where required
▪ General office duties

Job-related Requirements
▪ Minimum of 2 years’ experience in rating SAD500 courier export entries by air
▪ A completed Matric.
▪ 2 to 3 years’ experience with Customs Processes Procedures
▪ Easy Clear knowledge and advantage
▪ Computer Literacy: Office, email, MS office and Parcel Perfect
▪ Methodical, articulate and systematic
▪ Excellent Communication Skills {Written and Oral}
▪ Knowledge of Customs Tariff Headings
▪ Administrative Skills
▪ Rating of documents for at least 2 years
▪ Knowledge of export documentation requirements
▪ Must have been rating SAD500 documents by air
▪ HS code knowledge
▪ Woking on Easy Clear system
▪ Completed Customs courses

Duties & responsibilities
▪ Capturing and submitting accurate export declarations to Customs
▪ Inbound and outbound scanning of shipments at the Gateway
▪ Communicate laws and regulations to customers and other interested parties where legislation needs to be considered and adhered to
▪ Verify all documents against the shipment and request any missing documents from customer.
▪ Ensure shipments are packaged according to specifications and transport procedures.
▪ Provide information to interested parties of movement of shipment/s.
▪ Be able to promote the DSV brand to customers.
▪ Recommend improvements to international procedures.
▪ Ensure that all export documentation and record-keeping procedures are followed.
▪ Track status of exports and maintain status reports as per company requirements.
▪ Ensure the availability and maintenance of proper documented information for own department.
▪ Prepare all relevant information for audits when required.
